Features of Aha Prime 600 3D Printer

Build Volume

Featuring a large 500 x 500 x 600 cubic mm build volume, the 3D printer gives you a great working area for realizing your creations.

PrintProtect

Built to handle true Indian conditions, its unique PrintProtectTM feature ensures that if power fails during a print, the machine pauses, and resumes from the same location where it left when the power is restored. This means that the machine does not require any special conditions for operation. (hack: users also use this feature to pause the print for indefinite periods of time, e.g. over weekends!)

Dual Extruders

The Aha Prime 600 features dual all-metal e3d extruders, which are well-known for their reliability, precision and performance. You can use the two extruders for main, support, or dual colour prints.

Choice of Materials

With an option to use two materials simultaneously in the same print, you can choose to use ABS main + HIPS support, PLA, dual material composites or dual colour materials.

Fully enclosed build volume

The Aha Prime 600 features a fully enclosed build volume which is passively heated to upto 60 degrees C, and which gives excellent results with even the most challenging plastics. Infact, the ProtoCentre 999 is known for its prowess in getting best quality ABS prints!

Heated build platform

The Aha Prime 600 features a heated build platform, which can attain temperature upto 125 Degrees C. This is sufficient to reliably 3D print all kinds of plastics and ensure proper bed adhesion.

Aha Star Features

Configurable build volume

The star is made-to-order to your precise build volume requirements, and can be as small as 500 x 500 x 500 cubic mm, to as large as 2.25 x 2.25 x 2.25 cubic meters, and everything in between!

This means that, depending on your application, you can order the right star for general prototyping jobs (a perfect cube), foundry patterns and moulds generation (square cuboid where large height isn’t required), automobile parts (more wide than tall, to accommodate parts like bumpers and dashboards), aerospace components (more tall than wide to produce tubular structures and blades), medical prosthetics applications (more tall than wide) and everything else, including your business.

Interchangeable tool heads

The tool head is what brings the core “making” functionality to the Aha Star. It specifies what materials can be used for the job, the speed of material deposition, the number of materials that can be used simultaneously, and how can the machine can recover from material flow errors when they happen.

The basic toolhead

The basic toolhead is the entry-level option, to get you started with the Aha Star. It features air-cooled radiation, and offers a material deposition rate of 15 cc per hour. You can use plastics upto a melting point of 300 degrees C.

The  standard toolhead

The standard toolhead unlocks the power of the Aha Star, and features a high-flow rate material output option of a respectable 150 cc per hour. It features nozzles with a working temperature of upto 500 degrees C, so basically you can use all the imaginable thermoplastics with the Standard toolhead.

Customized toolhead

A customized toolhead depending on your requirements can be developed and used with the Aha Star! Sky is the limit, literally. Think speed, colours, materials, composites, clay, plastic pellets, cement, chocolate, or any application that you have in mind!

Temperature controlled bed and build chamber

High performance engineering plastics like ABS, PC and Ultem are challenging to process because they undergo deformations like warpage, shrinkage and delamination while 3D printing.

To achieve great results with such materials, the Aha Star offers you a temperature controlled bed and build chamber. This enables maintaining the perfect environment for the material being printed, both during and after printing, ensuring accurate and strong prints even with the most challenging of the materials.

Choice of servo drive systems

The drive system moves the toolhead as per design to be created. Conventional 3D printers use “stepper” drive system, which makes the toolhead move accurately, but can’t notice the motion that is actually happening. It blindly executes the commands coming from the design program, heedless of real-world motion errors.

With the star you have a range of options:

Stepper drive

Stepper drive is your vanilla 1:256 microstepped, heavy torque and heavy duty drive option. It comes as the economical option to get you started, and gives you perfect toolhead motion with precision. The only thing that it does not do is – it can’t detect and correct the motion errors.

Servo drive

Choice of servo drive puts the Aha Star in a different league of 3D printers – those that know what they’re doing. Aha Star equipped with a servo drive can detect and handle drive system errors like print slippage and other errors which might cause the print to fail.

A servo drive consists of an AC motor paired with a rotary encoder, enabling the drive computer to detect the actual motion of motor, and verify it against the commanded motion.

Here’s what it gives you:

  • Reliability
  • High Accuracy – 20 microns resolution.
  • Drive system error detection and handling.

Dual Servo drive

The Dual Servo drive adds in another feedback mechanism – the linear motion sensor, alongwith the rotary motion sensor. This enables the drive computer to detect the actual position of the toolhead. Hence, the drive computer can measure and correct for deviations from the expected position in all aspects.

  • Ultimate accuracy –  4 microns resolution.
  • Very reliable performance.
  • Self correcting for all drive system errors.
